On the obverse of 2023 British Gold Coronation of the King Coins, you will find the left-profile portrait of Charles III. This first-ever bust of His Majesty comes from Martin Jennings and debuted in early 2023 on coins such as the Britannia and Sovereign. This iteration is the first crowned bust of His Majesty and is reserved for special coronation-themed releases from the Royal Mint.
The reverse side of 2023 1/4 oz Gold Coronation of the King Coins comes with a depiction of His Majesty’s royal cypher. The cypher is set at the center of the coin with a crown above and a wreath flanking. The date of the coronation of King Charles III is engraved around the borders of the coin.
